Signia Integrated Xperience: A Lafayette Audiologist Review
A professional review from our fitting room, not a manufacturer marketing sheet. Where multi-speaker beamforming and Own Voice Processing win for Louisiana patients, where a different platform is the better pick, and what to expect during your 60-day trial.

The short version
The Signia Integrated Xperience platform (7IX top tier, 5IX mid, 3IX entry) is our top pick for patients whose main listening struggle is following a group conversation. RealTime Conversation Enhancement tracks up to four voices in a conversation and shifts focus to whoever is talking. It is beamforming built for restaurants and family dinners, not just for one-on-one.
Own Voice Processing keeps the wearer's own voice from sounding "in a barrel." Rechargeable battery runs 28 hours per charge, longest in the flagship tier. Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast are supported. Made for iPhone and Android ASHA both work.
Pricing at ACI Hearing Center is $4,500 to $7,500 per pair. That includes the fitting series, follow-ups for the life of the devices, batteries or charging, and a 60-day trial. We offer CareCredit and PowerPay financing. We do not offer Cherry.
Under the hood: RealTime Conversation Enhancement
The signature Signia feature on the Integrated Xperience platform is RealTime Conversation Enhancement (RTCE). Most competitor beamformers pick one direction, usually straight ahead, and try to boost that voice while suppressing everything else. That works fine one-on-one. It falls apart at a table of four.
RTCE watches the sound field for spoken voices, identifies up to four separate speakers, and dynamically switches beamforming focus to whoever is currently talking. If your daughter starts to talk on your left and then your grandson chimes in from across the table, the beam moves. You do not have to turn your head.
In our fitting room, this is the feature patients notice first when they hear a demo. It is a meaningful step up from static or single-target beamforming in noisy group scenarios.
Own Voice Processing: why some patients used to quit hearing aids
The single most common reason patients used to quit hearing aids in their first month was not the fit or the cost or even the sound. It was hearing their own voice sound "wrong" all day long. Occluded ears make the wearer's voice sound boomy and unnatural, and the brain never fully learns to ignore it.
Own Voice Processing (OVP) trains the hearing aid on the wearer's own voice during the fitting appointment. The hearing aid then processes the wearer's voice on a separate pathway from environmental sound. The result is a natural own-voice quality that most patients say sounds right within minutes.
For patients who tried a competitor hearing aid, hated hearing themselves talk, and returned it, Signia is the honest first refit recommendation. OVP is the reason.
Auracast, LE Audio, and streaming
Signia Integrated Xperience hardware is Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast ready. That matters because Auracast is starting to show up in Lafayette public venues: church sound systems, lecture halls, and the airport. When your hearing aids can pick up an Auracast broadcast, you hear the announcer or the sermon or the lecturer directly through your hearing aids, no telecoil loop needed.
Made for iPhone (MFi) streaming works with all current iPhones. Android ASHA streaming works with most current Android phones. You can take calls hands-free, stream music, listen to podcasts, or hear TV audio directly in both ears through the hearing aids.
Signia is not the broadest Auracast beachhead in the flagship tier (ReSound Nexia gets that title today). But Auracast works on Signia Integrated Xperience firmware as of 2026, and Signia has kept its rollout schedule steady.
Signia Assistant and the Signia app
The Signia app (iOS and Android) is the wearer's control center. Volume, program switching, streaming controls, and battery status are the basics. The differentiator is the Signia Assistant.
The Signia Assistant is an on-device AI helper that responds to plain-English complaints like "voices sound too bright" or "TV audio is muffled" or "wind is really loud outside." It offers small program-level adjustments the patient can accept or reject. If the adjustment does not solve the problem, the Assistant offers a different one.
The medical-grade tuning still happens with your audiologist at ACI. The Assistant is for the small in-between-appointment tweaks. Patients report that being able to fix a small issue on their phone at 7pm on a Tuesday, instead of driving to an appointment two weeks later, is the difference between wearing the hearing aids full-time and giving up.
Form factors and specs
The Signia Integrated Xperience platform ships in multiple form factors so we can match anatomy and lifestyle:
- Signia Pure Charge&Go IX (RIC rechargeable): the flagship. 28 hours per charge. Fits mild to severe hearing loss. This is what most of our Signia patients wear.
- Signia Pure C&G T IX (RIC rechargeable with telecoil): same as Pure Charge&Go plus a telecoil for older loop-audio venues.
- Signia Silk IX Charge&Go (CIC rechargeable): the smallest instant-fit CIC on the market. Nearly invisible. Fits mild to moderate loss.
- Signia Insio IX (custom in-the-ear, rechargeable options): 3D-printed custom shell. Fits mild to severe. Best for patients who cannot tolerate anything behind the ear.
- Signia Motion Charge&Go X IX (BTE): rechargeable behind-the-ear for the widest fitting range including severe-to-profound.
Feedback cancellation is strong across the platform. IP68 water and dust rating on the rechargeable RIC line. Direct streaming works iPhone (MFi), Android (ASHA), and Auracast (LE Audio).
Technology tiers
Signia Integrated Xperience comes in three technology tiers:
- Signia 7IX (Premium): full RealTime Conversation Enhancement, best-in-class Own Voice Processing tuning, Auracast, streaming, Signia Assistant, 28-hour battery. Our default recommendation for patients whose main struggle is group conversation.
- Signia 5IX (Advanced): RTCE with slightly reduced processing headroom. Own Voice Processing intact. Auracast intact. Streaming intact. Signia Assistant intact. For patients with a wider mix of listening situations (some noise, some quiet, some one-on-one).
- Signia 3IX (Essential): baseline RTCE for lighter-noise environments. Own Voice Processing intact. Auracast intact. Streaming intact. Best for patients whose life is mostly quiet with occasional restaurant or family dinner scenarios.
The tier you need depends on how noisy your listening life is, not on how expensive a device you want. We recommend against buying up in tier if your listening life does not use the extra processing. Buying down in tier when your listening life needs the extra processing is also a mistake. We help you pick the right tier during the fitting.
Cost at ACI Hearing Center
Pricing runs $4,500 to $7,500 per pair depending on tier. That covers:
- The two hearing aids themselves (Signia 3IX Essential to 7IX Premium)
- Comprehensive audiologic evaluation and fitting
- Follow-up appointments for the life of the devices
- Rechargeable batteries or charging case included with rechargeable models
- 60-day risk-free trial period
- Warranty coverage from Signia (typically 3 years on the flagship rechargeable line)
Financing options: CareCredit for healthcare purchases and PowerPay for longer-term payment plans. ACI does not offer Cherry.
Insurance benefit verification is free at ACI and can meaningfully reduce your out-of-pocket. Medicare Advantage plans often carry hearing aid benefits, the VA covers eligible veterans, and Louisiana workers comp covers job-caused hearing loss. See our Louisiana hearing aid insurance coverage guide for the full picture.
The 60-day trial
Every Signia Integrated Xperience fitting at ACI comes with a 60-day trial period. If the platform is not the right match for your listening life, we refit you at no additional charge to a different manufacturer (Oticon, Phonak, ReSound, Starkey, Widex, Unitron) within that window.
What we recommend during the trial: wear them every day. Test them in your hardest listening environments (restaurant, family dinner, worship service, driving with passengers, TV time). Come to the follow-up appointments so we can fine-tune. If you love the fit but want a different tier, we can restructure the treatment plan.
