Medicare and hearing aids — what you need to know
This is the most common insurance question we get. Here is the plain answer:
Traditional Medicare (Parts A and B): Does NOT cover hearing aids or routine hearing exams. It WILL cover a diagnostic hearing test if your physician orders one for a medical reason (sudden hearing loss, dizziness, ear pain, etc.).
Medicare Advantage (Part C): Many Advantage plans include hearing aid benefits. Coverage and allowance amounts vary by plan and year. Bring your Advantage plan card and we will verify your specific benefit before you commit to anything.
Financing and payment options
Hearing aids are a significant investment, and we understand not everyone can pay all at once. We offer:
- CareCredit — 0% interest financing for qualified applicants, 6 to 24 month terms. Apply online or in our office.
- Manufacturer financing — Some hearing aid brands offer their own payment plans through partner programs.
- Trade-in credit — Upgrading older hearing aids? We offer trade-in value toward your new pair.
- Self-pay — We accept cash, all major credit cards, and HSA/FSA cards.
What we file for you
We submit claims directly to your insurance company on your behalf. You pay only your portion — copay, coinsurance, or deductible — at the time of service. If your insurance denies a claim, our billing team helps you appeal. You should not have to fight the insurance battle alone.
Veterans benefits
The Department of Veterans Affairs provides hearing aids at no cost to eligible veterans through VA medical facilities. If you are a veteran, you may be able to receive hearing services through the VA Lafayette Outpatient Clinic. ACI Hearing Center also serves veterans through private pay or community care referrals when appropriate.
